Eric on MicroHoo: It Could Hurt, Doc!
I don't think so. I think the folks at Google are pleased as punch that these two are wrangling and might merge. (story)

Google Inc does not want to face the power of Microsoft. The huge cash reserves along with the innovation can propel Microsoft/yahoo to #1.
"Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer pledged earlier this month that his company would gain market share against Google in online advertising and Web searching, even if led to his "last breath" at the company."
Oh my.. Let the battle begin.. The hurt one might not be internet but the users.
Google was built upon intelligence and Yahoo and Microsoft were built up corporate greed and money. I really don't think Yahoo and Microsoft being lovers is going to change anything. In fact it may make them fall faster.
