Google has had it for some time too, but only available on its Google Maps Mobile! I wonder why they chose not to add it to their online maps for so long? I use it regularly on my phone.
The way that Google Maps implemented their traffic overlay is lousy. When you click the traffic button on the map, the overlay covers all of the highway/freeway labels. This could be a problem for someone trying to navigate a locale that they're unfamiliar with. Weak.
