  1. Overpriced? Underpriced? Just about the right price?

At any rate, some of the most valuable properties on the web!!

I expect that in a couple years Microsoft will wonder why it was wasting its time with Yahoo.

  2. It is a fair price – at least for the time being. The bigger question: is it a good deal for all?

Going forward what becomes of this (as far as CBS is concerned) has to do with their management’s ability to meld diverse corporate cultures.

Management is going to face big challenges in keeping the creative staff (those whose minds have generated and continue to come up with the ideas that lead to engaging content) sufficiently motivated. If they fail at that and key people begin to fly from the coop, then the price paid while “fair” at the time, in hindsight, becomes not such a “good deal”.

Anyway, its their problem to deal with and I am sure they have an idea of how this will work out. Then again, Katie Couric was a CBS investment decision, too, wasn’t she?
And the word of the day is: Ouch!

Sooo….what has Microsoft been doing the past eight years?

(aside from the stock not outperforming my savings account)
