I like search hacks by grad students. Like SearchBots, for example.
Searchbots.net is an experimental search engine that investigates the use of mythology, personification and game theory as motivational strategies in creating a sustainable search community. Searchbots has a rich history and is unique in that it allows you to search using more “human” and entertaining types of information like colour and mood. If you picked the colour red you might get a website about tomatoes, communism or angry people.
Oh, this is hilarious. Tamagotchi has finally made it online. Very intuitive, though, I must say. You should add another chapter to your book… The Search Mash-up. Cool stuff. Thanks John!
Great idea this – its great tool (albeit pretty basic) for junior searchers to build their own engine and the factors that are involved.

“When you built my brain you said you could help me out if I got confused” he pleaded. He then asked me “How do I incorporate a business?” I don’t know, so I didn’t answer. I feel kind of bad, he’s out there on his own and he’s awfully confused. The responsibility is all too much. I would like to delete my account, but is that murder?
