Google seems to be always serious when it comes to business. It is totally a diferent story that its seriousness is revealed after everyone is not so serious about those things.
I would be dead serious about anything that made me as much money as Google makes on ads. The YouTube acquisition opens them up to the video advertising realm, and it only makes sense that that would peak their interest in television advertising.
That looked like a very serious survey to me. Google is all business when it comes to world domination.
