I've gotten a lot of mail on this, which tells me it's worth noting: Google is tweaking its ad placements and putting more ads up, and it bought a mobile company. Silicon Beat covers it well.

I am not sure you were aware of this john ,a major change in adword system went live on tuesday - seems many people dont like it as of now but i think one has to give it a week or two to evaluate its pros and cons!
The Adwords change was basically a stealth price increase (at least for me).
bought a mobile company? that seems to merit some analysis beyond being lumped with a change to adwords. Espcially given the people involved...possibly talking about buying a company for its engineers?
