While I was out, much news has broken in our world. Yahoo, for example, launched an experiment called “Search Pad.” From their corporate post:

(Search Pad is) a new feature we’re testing on Yahoo! Search that helps you keep track of websites and take notes whenever you do research online. It intelligently understands when you’re in research mode and, if you choose, collects information about the sites you visit. You can create research documents with saved websites, edit and reorder your personal notes, and share them with friends. No more handwritten scrawls, Post-Its or scattered documents. And you can access them from wherever you are.

  1. This is great news. This should definately make my research much more simpler. Also this way i do not have to worry if I had missed out some information on sites and not able to get them back.

  3. This looks like a great start. It’s a little similar to Diigo. What it seems to be missing is the social functions so necessary today. Sharing the research with RSS and comments would be great as well as both private-invite research lists and public lists. Features like this would move me back to Yahoo!

  4. I’ll believe it when I see it. Not only do I have doubts about the product, I have greater doubts about the average person’s willingness to try out this new type of product.
