We’ve got multiple sources at both Yahoo and Microsoft telling us that official talks are back on between the two companies. But we’re hearing something different than CNET – the talks are about a full buyout again, not a sweetened search-only deal.
After the mass exodus at Yahoo!, it may seem worth accepting the acquisition. Yahoo! just lost a lot of their top talent.
On the contrary, Yahoo! can become more focused on their core divisions and shut down the useless ones.
Hopefully, everyone involved in the due diligence process will have sense enough to ask how much return on investment Yahoo! got for all those other search engines THEY bought a few years ago.
