One prediction is that Apple is going to announce a deal to bundle in Google’s Webtop products (gmail, Google Docs and Spreadsheets,Google Calendar, etc.) into upcoming Macs. At least that’s what Fred Vogelstein thinks, based on recent hints from Eric Schmidt and Steve Jobs.

  1. Bundling. is. evil.

    Frankly, bundling, even when I want the software, is the main thing that drove me away from Windows. If Google does this, buh bye Apple. Time to complete the migration to Linux.

    Keep in mind that a Google “bundle”, in this case, would only be Apple granting users access to a customized web app, not any actual software.

    My personal domain is hosted by Google, and I use mail, calendar, notebook, reader, and docs and spreadsheets. But the only “software” I have installed on my Mac is the Notebook Firefox add-on.

    As a current, but planning to be a former, dot Mac user, I would welcome an Apple-Google collaboration.

  3. My misunderstanding. I thought it was more along the lines of the Dell-Google bundle. Actual pre-loaded software. Thank you for the correction.
