I would agree with the comments, Google has done a great job on text search and bringing some relevance to single word entries. It is more tricky if we entre more than 4 – 5 words. Google almost does not find anything. Recently we have seen companies trying to improve on the image side. Pixsta a image search engine company has helped to launch ChezImelda.com a browsable shoe index or shoe search engine, no words are needed just browse and click on images to find your way around.
