Well, Re-Find (sign up at left) is the weekly summary of what was posted on Searchblog, which may or may not be interesting to you. But it’s also a way for me to know who the hell you guys are. I am stunned, honored, and scared shitless to report that Searchblog has something like 35,000 readers now, and it’s nice to grok a cross section of that readership, if only through the entrails of email addresses. Plus, those who proactively vote by signing up will more likely than not get an invitation to participate in whatever it is I might do next – read chapters of the book before publication, beta test a new site, or come to a conference I’m thinking about. So sign up, if any of that sounds interesting to you. You can always unsubscribe if I get too self serving, pedantic, or hopelessly boring.

  1. Email newsletters? When we have blogs, blog aggregators, metablogs, and 7+ flavors of RSS? How 1990’s 🙂

But since you asked nicely and promised goodies, I’ll bite.

  2. It must be heartening to know, that through the very metrics upon which we can evaluate a measure of success, that we have exceed all expectations. But is actually self denial upon one’s own abilities, to perpetuate a constructed analysis o/ discussion of an ever increasing web of discovery.

Quite simply, your past is not forgotten, your future is mearly anticipated.

  3. hey i’ll give it a go. at the very worst it’ll end up being stuck in the infinite and endless folder of “research material” i keep on Mail 🙂

  4. Hi John
you may want to put a small subscribe or go button or something like that over near the email signup. Not everyone will know to hit enter after they put in their email…that was the first list I have ever subscribed to where there was so submit button. I would assume the same holds true for many otheres.

  5. Your subscription system requires a reply from the email account that you subscribed with. Why not just going to the web site to confirm? I make different, traceable mail addresses for every subscription, and I can’t send mail from them.

  6. (on Bloglines feed visibility) Hey, that’s really cool. Thanks for the tip! Mark F., that’s a cool service for bloggers, really neat to see who reads you. (On Gmail and privacy/Brin/Brad), I’m writing on that and will post something at some point soon.
