That's an Ad.

Google pushing Chrome on the home page.

Reader Andrew writes: Paine's Common Sense wasn't a hastily put together reaction to something that happened that day (I think the personal correspondence of our founding fathers was more in line with blogging than their pamphlets).

Yep, that's the new ad, an ad that's not an ad. Thanks for pointing out.
I don't get that Google ad when running Firefox or Chrome on either Windows XP or on my Nokia web browser. Maybe it's targeted at Safari users.
"Have you ever searched Google in a Google browser? YOU WILL..."
these have been running for months in AU ... on IE anyway.
Did you otice how it fades in only when the mouse enters the browser window? Try it. Bizarre thing to do.
I think that google pushing chrome maybe a very good misdirection to help keep our minds off of the fact that their search is has become a spam ridden blicking neon sign. It is a way to keep our minds off of the fact that Google, and others that use simialr ways of trying to find relevant resutls have hit a wall that billions of dollars and the best R and D in the world currently cannot go beyond. Garbage in= Garbage out

That's very old. Google is doing this for some time now when opening the homepage with Internet Explorer. At least since April.

It's not just an ad.
It is a graphical banner ad.
