In case you missed the CM Summit in NYC and want to see what happened, there were some great moments, and they are up on the site now. Don't miss Rich Silverstein, or Beth Comstock, or all the other goodness…….

  1. Wow! I am impressed — and the first video (in which you explain your “measurement focus”) explains (to me) your interest in “open search”: You are building a measurement search engine!

And that is a phenomenal idea! A long time ago I also thought of doing something like this — but all I actually managed to do was to register the domain name (one of the very few “brand” oriented names I have ever registered [luckily it was early, so I was able to get the term in all the major TLDs]).

But what you’re planning to do is HUGE: the way I see it, this could finally turn around the centralization of metrics that has been going on for the last 5 years, and return to the de-centralization that is what the web is all about.

And therefore (I feel) that such a resource (as you are proposing) needs to be open and transparent, lest it become yet another “Mecca” for “one-size fits-all” measurement.

An unclear measure is a useless measure — so I applaud you for shining a bright light on this — and although I appreciate that even though it might get a little hot in the kitchen, more and more stomachs are grumbling and so the time to start cooking is NOW!
