It didn't last long, either. When I navigated to the new whatever using the button on the Microsoft home page, I got:

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

It still has to be good search. I tried it this morning, and as a test, used the last product that I purchased on the web – shelf pins for bookcases. Type ‘shelf pins’ into the new service, and see the first result. Pretty funny. Now do the same on Google and Yahoo. Both those sites got it right.

It's a terrible idea, widely criticized as an act of desperation. I tend to agree. I simply do not believe that this idea is sustainable over the long term.

It's very sad to see Microsoft resort to gimmicks in order to drive adoption of their search engine --- very sad.
