Pitchers

Today, pitchers and catchers report to spring training. In three weeks, I take my son for our annual weekend in Scottsdale.

    Nothing like a bunch of drugged-up, dumb, self-absorbed jerks with decent but not great athletic ability who’d send their own mother to jail to play in the bigs but would never rat out another player regardless of how many drugs he’s taken, women he’s raped or shots he’s done the night before a day game to bring joy and happiness to a grown man!

    My dad and I go to Florida for baseball every March. We started in 1993 and start talking about the next trip as soon as the World Series is over.

    We’ve been talking about flying to Arizona next year. While it’s pretty off-topic for the blog, I’d be interested in hearing a more detailed review of the different stadiums, the Cactus League experience, and how it compares to the Grapefruit League in Florida (if you’ve been to FL for Spring Training).

    Also, it’s worth noting that the regular quality time with your son will be remembered for many, many years. I can’t wait until my boy is old enough to go with us.

    Way to chortle in your joy John. All professional sports have problems but that’s no reason to condemn all involved Eric. The fantastic relationship I have with my adult son is partially due to our mutual love of baseball and the time we spent as a family playing and watching baseball.
