Just a matter of time. From GigaOm.
welcome to the google universe. next up… barnes&noble/borders/itunes search boxes powered by google. tomtom/magellan/delphi navigation powered by google. refrigerator content? monitored by google. what’s its stock symbol again? oh that’s right… it’s in the phone number, duh. but at least it’s good to know that google isn’t not evil =)
As exciting as it may seem whenever Google rolls out with something new, it’s important to keep in mind that they’re far from the first company to take the cost out of 411. 1-800-Free-411 has been doing this for a long time now, and in fact it’s better than the Google number because it has live operator support and business, residential, and gov’t listings (Goog411 just has business). Also, we have category search capability now (details at the Free 411 site).
