&lt;p&gt;Yahoo is a different kind of company - more of a true media company. Evidence that they are better from a social aspect is that google answers was shut down while yahoo answers has flourished.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Google does use AJAX with gmail, but if you look at their highest traffic property (search) they don&#039;t - email is yahoo&#039;s most popular service.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
