&lt;p&gt;I bet less than 5% of Google/Yahoo users understand that they keep our entire search stream down to individual PCs ... forever.   &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Although I&#039;d argue this info clearly should have privacy protections the silence about this from people who do understand how it works... is deafening, this blog excluded.   &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When people start to understand how public their stuff has become we&#039;ll see a lot of ill-conceived legislation.  I&#039;ll blame (our) internet community for failing to be more proactive before the SearchShi* hit the fan, as it&#039;s about to do.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
