John,

Today's WSJ posted a small article about college newspapers and corporate owners. Last week Gannett purchased The FSView & Florida Flambeau, the student newspaper of Florida State University.

Colby Atwood, media industry consultant, comments, "Most college papers are really not for sale...but... if corporate sponsorship takes hold in the college newspaper arena, a lot of colleges might be interested in taking a look, for the mentorship opportunities and financial support."

It's not hard to see how Google's relationship with Viacom could become an an important part of Google's continued quest to drive ROI through acupuncture specific advertising.

John,

Interesting -- especially considering Viacom's very recent acquisition of Y2M. http://cpsite.collegepublisher.com/companynews/pressreleases/060802.html

No need to read between the lines -- Google knows exactly where it is going to maximize "print" ad revenues.
