Joe Beda let it slip in his <a href="http://www.eightypercent.net/Archive/2004/09/14.html#a213" rel="nofollow">resignation announcement</a> over a month ago and <a href="http://joshp.typepad.com/15/2004/09/mooning_the_gia.html" rel="nofollow">I speculated on Google "mooning the giant"</a> back on the 15th of September. </p> <p>Even older is the MSFT Search <a href="http://research.microsoft.com/aboutmsr/labs/siliconvalley/default.aspx" rel="nofollow">presence in the valley</a> where publicly announced project's include <a href="http://research.microsoft.com/research/sv/msrbot/" rel="nofollow">MSR bot</a>and <a href="http://research.microsoft.com/research/sv/PageTurner/" rel="nofollow">Page Turner</a> and researchers like <a href="http://research.microsoft.com/~najork/" rel="nofollow">Mark Najork</a> reside. There is more to say, but all that is already public.</p> This is old news.
