And you can bet that Google will come up with a way for consumers to pay them, via Google Checkout, to protect the incredible amount of private info that they collect about you; those who don't pay run the risk of their data being used in whatever manner Google deems is not "evil" according to their evolving definition. They can get you either way.
I would happily pay a pretty sum of money to someone who could provide me a suite of applications like google's without the associated privacy pitfalls.
